Splatter Mask Set Two

Splatter Mask Set Two like set one, contains six overlay masks of various splatter
effects which can present countless possibilities in using.

Each overlay mask measures 2500 X 2500 pixels in size, also I have made them
PSD files which preserves the files, plus I have made the mask a separate
transparent layer for those who may want to convert / make a separate PNG file.

Please, respect the rules and have fun using.

How To Use:

1: Open Mask In Photoshop / or equivalent editor.
2: Open image you want to use for the mask and place it as the top layer.
3: Now on the top layer adjust the layer and opacity modes to your liking, on the
example posted I used the Screen mode and left the opacity at 100%.

    ..........that's it!

You may want to add more than one mask at a time, use the colored layer that's
attached or add your own, by tweaking the layer modes and opacity on each layer,
the possibilities are endless.

BlackBox Overlay Set 2

It's so nice to be back and creating some new things to share, hope you missed me,
I sure missed you guys.

BlackBox Overlay Set 2 contains as the banner states, 13 Overlays of various kinds,
each 2000 X 2000 pixels each.

Example 1: using BlackBox 12

I'm using a wonderful portrait of Mary Louise Parker, sigh!

1. Open image

2. Open BlackBox 12 Overlay > set layer mode to Screen and leave the Opacity at 100%.

3. Optional ~ I've chosen to add a colored tint, go to Layer > select > New Fill Layer
> Solid Color > then I choose #b9ab90 as my tint to use then I set the Layer Mode at
Soft Light and again I leave the Opacity at 100%.

Ta Da .............. I'm happy with my results.

Example 2 Original Image:

Example 2: using BlackBox 9

1. Open Image

2. Open BlackBox 9 > set the Layer Mode at Lighten and the Opacity leave at 100%.

3. Optional ~ I've chosen to add a colored tint, go to Layer > select > New Fill Layer
> Solid Color > b9ab90 as my tint, which gives the cold winter image a vintage feel.

4. Don't be afraid to experiment with solid colors on top of the overlays, here I
decide to use another solid color layer #b1d6d8 on top of the previous solid color
overlay and set the Layer Mode to Color Burn and the Opacity leave at 100%.

I'm satisfied with my results, which I feel gives the image a more acurate vintage look.

Assorted Mask Overlays August 2012

Assorted Mask Overlays August 2012 contains 10 unique and different Masks which
can be applied using an image editor with the ability of using layers and opacity levels
to achieve individual looks.

                                                          Before Image

                                                          After Image

The sample above was acheived using two different masks, here's what I did to achieve
  the finished look.

1. Opened the Scarlett Johansson "Girl With a Pearl Earring" image,
    which becomes the background layer.

2. Opened the MO8-2012-5 Layer Mask, and set the layer mode to Screen
and left the opacity at 100%.

3. Opened the MO8-2012-3 Layer Mask and set the layer mode to Soft Light
and left the Opacity at 100%.

4. Not quite to my liking, so I make a duplicate of the background layer
and set layer mode to Lighter Color and the Opacity at 85%.

5. Done, I feel satisfied with the outcome so flatten and save.

PS Elements users ...

My apologies to PS Elements users for my last post, my"Shadowhouse Creations Tint
and Mask Generator Kit."

Since posting I've received some e-mails about not being able to use in PS Elements,
after scratching my head for days I decided to re-install PS Elements 9 again on my PC
"after restoring my PC to new, a chore I do once a year to clean out unwanted garbage"
decision to not install after cleaning because I rarely use it since I have several
versions of Photoshop.

After installing Elements 9 as soon as I opened the Tint
and Mask Kit I was blown away by what I saw, PS Elements
doesn't have the ability to deal with "Grouped Sets or
Folders" one of many simple tasks Adobe decided to exclude
from PS Elements.

After a few cups of coffee I decided to peruse the web in
search of answers, a clue, or at least a script to handle
the duty of ungrouping grouped sets/folders.

I discovered this simple chore has been left out of all versions
of Elements, so I began looking for a script to do what Adobe left
out, nothing free in the way of scripts, but I found a remarkable
tool to handle the ungrouping grouped sets/folder problem and a
whole lot more.  I ran across Elements+, it seems Elements+ has
the ability to handle a lot of the duties not inherited in Elements
through the use of simple scripts.

If you've not already discovered Elements+ I would strongly suggest
you visit HERE to see what it's capable of doing.

I decided to order Elements+9 which handles my version of Adobe PS
Elements 9, the site has individual versions to cover Elements 6
through 10, so if you decide to order, make sure to order the correct
version for your version of PS Elements.

Downloaded, installed, which it has it's own installer, so you won't
have to follow tricky instructions and copy dozens of files to different
locations manually.  Installation took me a minute or two, and first
run when opening Elements took a minute so the program reconstructs its
cache file, done, so curiously I open the Tint and Mask Generator Kit
in Elements 9 and followed the instructions given on how to ungroup
Folders/Sets, in a flash it ungrouped the folders Tints and Masks and
now shows all the tint and mask layers individually just as PS CS3 does
which is what I made the kit in.

If you're one who would like to have as many tools as possible from full
fledged Photoshop within Elements, I'd check it out, glad I did.

Check it out HERE and for the many things it can do,
at $12.00 I find it a bargain.

I decided to post a link to the "Shadowhouse Creations Tint and Mask Generator
Kit - for Elements, which is the same kit, only the layers are individual
and not grouped so you will see all the layers stacked when opening the file.

Hope this helps those using Elements and wanting to use.

Peace

Shadowhouse Creations Tint and Mask Generator Kit

Shadowhouse Creations Tint and Mask Generator Kit contains twenty
retro color tints and twelve layer masks.

All tints and masks are a separate PSD layer, and you can apply however
many layers you want, just toggle or untoggle the individual tints or masks
you want.  You can get countless effects by selecting whatever layers and
adjusting the opacity and or layer modes for some cool results.

** Just for safe keeping, I would suggest making a duplicate of the folder
so you'll always have a safe backup copy.**

The Tint and Mask generator is but a folder that houses a lot of PSD layers,
which can be used in all versions of Photoshop and Elements.
The folder doesn't actually generate anything "maybe a poor choice of word
on my part" but it does give one the ability to countless possibilities by
applying different levels of opacity and layer modes.

Hopefully this kit can be of some use, definately will keep you busy.
